PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mail capacity reduction support device, a mail capacity reduction support method, and a program, capable of surely deleting only a quotation for allowing a user to recognize a meaning of e-mail even when it is deleted among quotations in the e-mail.SOLUTION: A mail capacity reduction support device 20 includes: a quotation form determination part 27 for determining by which of a whole sentence quotation form and a partial quotation form a quotation in the text of object e-mail is described; a quotation match determination part 28 for, when the quotation is described by the whole sentence quotation form, comparing the quotation with the entire character string of e-mail whose reception time is older than the object e-mail by a line unit, and determining whether or not the number of matching lines becomes equal to or larger than a set threshold; and a quotation deletion part 23 for deleting the quotation from the text of the object e-mail when the number of the matching lines becomes equal to or larger than the set threshold as a result of determination.
