PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display system that can efficiently display an optimum image, and a computer program for a portable information processing device contained in the image display system.SOLUTION: An image display system has a portable information processing device 10 and a head mount display (HMD) 50 that communicate with each other. The portable information processing device 10 has a communication unit 22, a display unit 20 and an operation unit 24. In the portable information processing device 10, a communication state with HMD 50 is determined, and at least a partial area of an image displayed on the display unit 20 is selected according to a specific instruction input by the operation unit 24. When both the devices can communicate with each other, partial image data representing a partial image as the partial area is transmitted from the communication unit 22 to HMD 50. HMD 50 has a communication unit 70 and an image display unit 68. In HMD 50, the partial image represented by the partial image data received by the communication unit 70 is displayed on an image display unit 68.
