The present invention provides a metal complex-based catalyst comprising at least one complex or salt of a metal being selected from the group consisting of zinc, aluminium, iron chromium, manganese, silver, gold, cerium, and samarium having a total positive charge, or a mixture of complexes or salts of several metals being selected from the group consisting of copper, zinc, aluminium, cobalt, nickel, chromium, manganese, silver, gold, cerium, and samarium having a total positive charge, whereby the complex or salt of the metal or a mixture of several complexes or salts of metals is immobilized on a slightly acid synthetic organic resin with carboxylate functional group. The present invention further relates to a process for preparing the catalyst according to any of the Claims 1 through 5, characterized in that metal of a mixture of metals in the form of a metal salt or a metal complex is chemisorbed on a slightly acid synthetic organic resin with carboxylate functional group, preferably at a temperature ranging from 20 to 30 degC. The invention also comprises the use of the above-described catalyst for catalysis of chemical syntheses, in the course of which single linkages C-C and C-N in monomeric products are formed.
