A system for feeding an infant that includes (a) a newborn infant feeding a First composition comprising a Lipid or Fat; a source of Protein, where the Protein source is from around 72% to about 90% of Serum and from around 10 % to around 28% of a prebiotic casein; composition; and at least 72ui / 100 kcal of vitamin DAnd (b) feeding an infant at a later stage, a Second composition comprising a Lipid or Fat; a source of Protein, where the Protein source is from about 50% to about 70% of Serum and from about 30% to about 50% of casein; composition N prebiotic; and not more than 70 kcal / 100 IU of vitamin D.
