The present invention provides a substrate for growing Lentinula edodes mushroom, which comprises Quercus sp sawdust, Zae mays stubble, Zea mays corn cobs, CaSO4, and water. The invention also provides a method for the production of Lentinula edodes mushroom, which includes the incubation of the mushroom in the substrate at 28°C for a period of time of 4 months under dark conditions.
