The invention relates to a cleaning gel with a paste like consistency based on water, caustic soda and polymer gel forming material, which only can be used for cleaning wafer baking plates of industrial wafer baking ovens which are baking cereal flour based batter or dough. The invention is a time saving, easy to apply on baking plates cleaning solution and due to the viscous character of the invention the corrosiveness danger for workers is reduced to a minimum. The respiratory danger for workers of sodium hydroxide is due to the invention not existing. The invention is assuring that the sodium hydroxide is cleansing the wanted area and is not damaging the other oven parts due to dripping of sodium hydroxide solution. After a maceration period the applied gel will be permeated by the released baking plate pollution and can be safely removed by tilting the baking plates, one by one to a vertical position. For formed figure shaped wafer baking plates the cleansing gel is specially pre sheeted to the size and thickness of the baking plate and foreseen with a network what makes it even more easy to apply on the plates while the network in the sheet is providing after a maceration period a complete release of the gel and leaving a clean figure shaped baking plate behind. This is called" fit to size" cleaning gel sheet for easy and brush free release of the cleansing gel from special engraved or mould wafer baking plates.
