Disclosed is a monoclonal antibody, which recognises a common epitope in human papillomavirus L2 protein, wherein the antibody comprises the CDRs of the sequences as defined in the specification. Also disclosed is the use of the antibody in a method for measuring the antibody titre of cross-neutralising antibody against human papillomavirus (HPV).
