A METHOD OF THE LUMBAR PARAVERTEBRAL BLOCKADE FOR PAIN RELIEF AT THE FIRST STAGE OF LABOR

A method of the lumbar paravertebral blockade for pain relief at the first stage of labor is performed by paravertebral injection of solution of the local anesthetic L1. The local anesthetic solution of 1% lidocaine or 0.25% bupivacaine is injected in combination with 0.18% solution of adrenaline at a rate of 0.1 ml to 10 ml to 20 ml on both sides of the spine in several places at once, at a depth of 0.5-1 cm behind the transversal spines of vertebra in concentration of 1.5-2 ml. The injection is performed sequentially with three-time needle rotation around its axis at 90 °, with the performance of the input sample aspiration before each injection, then another needle is deepened to 1.5-2 cm and the injection of the same volume of solution is repeated, further the needle is deepened to the depth of 5-6 cm behind the transverse spines of vertebra and the rest of solution is injected.
