METHOD FOR ASSESSING EFFICACY OF AMLODIPIN IN TREATING PULMONARY HYPERTENSION IN THE SETTING OF PATENT DUCTUS ARTERIOSUS

The method for assessing the efficacy of Amlodipin in treating the pulmonary hypertension in the setting of the patent ductus arteriosus provides for the comparison of the state of patient prior to and after the treatment. Prior to the treatment with Amlodipin, 5 mL of the blood is sampled from the cubital vein of the patient at rest. The viscosity of the blood is measured in rotational viscosimeter at the shearing forces within 0.020-8.8 dyn/cm2. The analogous procedures are performed after the treatment with Amlodipin. If the viscosity at 0.3 dyn/cm2 decreases by more than 7.5 % as compared with that prior to the treatment, the hemorheological result and the clinical effect are considered as the positive ones.
