microRNA-based methods for diagnosing colon cancer

A method of diagnosing whether a subject has a solid cancer comprising: measuring the level of at least one miR gene product-24.01 in a sample of colon tissue of the subject, wherein an alteration in the level of the first product miR-24-1 gene in the sample relative to the level of the miR gene product-24.01 in a control sample, is indicative that the subject has colon cancer.
