The invention relates to a magnetic field circulation sensor including: magnetic excitation means including (i) at least one elongate excitation coil (10) extending around an elongate soft magnetic core (11) consisting of a flexible magnetic material containing a soft or flexible matrix wherein magnetic particles are scattered and (ii) an excitation current generation unit (3) coupled to the excitation coil in order to generate an excitation magnetic field in the core over substantially the entire length of the coil; and measuring means including (i) at least one magnetic measurement transducer (10) magnetically coupled to the magnetic excitation means and (ii) a measuring unit (3) connected to the magnetic measurement transducer (10) and suitable for providing a magnetic field circulation measurement in the core.
