EXTENSION OF THE OPERATING TIME OF A SECURITY ELEMENT

The invention relates to a method and a system for extending the operating time of a security element having an integrated semiconductor circuit. In this case, a functional state of the integrated semiconductor circuit of the security element is detected and a data record is provided for a remote server entity, wherein the data record contains the functional state. The functional state comprises the number of access events to at least one memory section of a non-volatile memory of the security element, wherein the number is recorded using an access recording unit of the security element. A use of the method in a security element and a corresponding computer program product are likewise proposed.
