The invention relates to an in vitro method and to a cell imaging device for imaging cells, in particular cell topographies, or crystals in a biological sample. A biological sample solution having at least one cell or at least one crystal is conducted into a microfluidic channel. The cell or the crystal is caused to rotate in the microfluidic channel. Then two images of the same cell or the same crystal following one another in time are produced from different orientations by means of a microscopy device.
