The issue of lid-material film breaking is solved by a lid-material film that is used in a tray-seal packaging method wherein a tray filled with packaging contents and the lid-material film arranged above the tray are conveyed in synchronization, the lid-material film is punched out along the outer circumference of a tray opening edge, and the opening edge is heat sealed. The film comprises a base material layer and a sealant layer and has a thickness of less than 30 µm. The base material layer has a layer having, as the main component thereof, polypropylene, polyamide, polyester, or a saponification product of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer. The sealant layer has as the main component thereof a straight-chain, low-density polyethylene having a density of 913-929 kg/m3.
