The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition that includes a balloon flower extract as an active ingredient and has antioxidant, anticancer, antidiabetic, or antibacterial activity. According to the present invention, the composition: increases activity of removing DDPH, nitrite, or cations of ABTS; exhibits anticancer activity in stomach cancer cells, breast cancer cells, rectal cancer cells, lung cancer cells, liver cancer cells, cervical cancer cells; has high glucose tolerance; and is proven to have antibacterial activities against various bacteria associated with bronchial diseases. Therefore, the composition can be advantageously used as a pharmaceutical composition having antioxidant, anticancer, antidiabetic, or antibacterial activity. Moreover, the composition is not cytotoxic and not poisonous and has no side effects. Therefore, the composition can be sued even for a long period of time and is stable in a body.
