The present invention relates to a method for drawing a residual final longitudinal strength versus grounding damage index (R-D) diagram for a stranded ship and, more specifically, to a method for developing an R-D diagram used to evaluate the safety of a stranded ship. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for drawing an R-D diagram for a stranded ship comprises the steps of selecting a type of ship, and calculating dimensions for each part and main features which may define the characteristics of the ship; defining damage information including types of damage, which may occur in the ship, and the amount of the damage; modeling the ship based on the defined damage information; calculating load conditions applied to the ship, and analyzing the residual final longitudinal strength of the modeled ship considering the damage; and obtaining a grounding damage index (GDI) through a grounding accident scenario and drawing an R-D diagram from a result of the residual final longitudinal strength analysis.
