According to the present invention, a system for visualizing 3D model of a design drawing based on mobile augmented reality includes a design drawing managing server (100) and a smartphone (200). The smartphone includes a camera (201) and a display unit (202). Usually, an input unit and the display unit are provided together in the case of a touch screen method. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the system: detects a drawing area and extracts feature points when the camera (201) of the smartphone (200) displays a 2D design drawing; recognizes a design drawing by mating the feature points with feature points stored in a cache or a design drawing managing server of the smart phone; receives a 3D model; augments the received 3D model on a design drawing; and outputs the 3D model on the display unit (202) of the smartphone. According to the present invention, recognition time is about 20-30% less because the computation amount is less than that of the prior method of extracting feature points of the whole image. Moreover, a recognition rate is about 5-10% higher than that of the prior method because a matching process is performed only on an ROI area of the design drawing except unnecessary objects around.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
