The present invention relates to a method to control and/or monitor a wind turbine (1) equipped with a LIDAR sensor (2). The method to control and monitor a wind turbine considers an estimation of a wind speed of a rotor obtained by an estimator and the LIDAR sensor (2). The estimator of the wind speed of the rotor is configured from an expression of a wind, a LIDAR sensor model, and a wind transmission model. The method to control and monitor a wind turbine comprises: obtaining a signal in correspondence to a measurement measured by the LIDAR sensor; constructing an estimator of the wind; estimating the wind speed of the rotor of the turbine by applying the estimator of the wind of the rotor to the obtained signal; and controlling and/or monitoring the wind turbine by the estimated wind speed.
