The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing a green tea (Camellia sinensis L.) seed husk extract or a fraction thereof as an active ingredient for preventing and treating obesity. The green tea seed husk extract exhibits a significant vasculogenesis suppressing effect and has been confirmed to be effective in reducing adipocytes and body weight, and thus the green tea seed husk extract can be advantageously used as an active ingredient of a composition for preventing and treating obesity, a health food for preventing and alleviating obesity, or a pharmaceutical composition for vasculogenesis suppression.
