Disclosed are a soft-decision-based recursive equalizer and a method for controlling the same. The soft-decision-based recursive equalizer comprises: a feed-forward filter unit for feeding forward a reception signal; a determination unit for performing soft decision on the reception signal fed forward to generate an output signal of the recursive equalizer; and a feedback filter unit for feeding back the output signal of the recursive equalizer, wherein the feedback filter unit comprises: a first feedback filter unit for receiving the output signal of the recursive equalizer; and a second feedback filter unit for receiving the output signal of the recursive equalizer and a signal related to an output value of the first feedback filter unit.
