Disclosed are a slope monitoring method capable of determining primarily the possibility of collapse of a slope according to optical flow information and determining secondarily the possibility of collapse of the slope by scanning precisely a partial area of the slope with a high possibility of collapse, a system using the slope monitoring method, and a recording medium for performing the slope monitoring method. The system includes: a camera configured to photograph a slope to obtain an image; a laser instrument configured to measure distance information from an image to measure the depth information of the slope; a region of interest configuration unit configured to configure a region of interest of an image; an initial model generation unit configured to obtain initial slope model information from a region of interest; an optical flow calculation unit configured to optical flow information from the region of interest; a first determination unit configured to determine the possibility of collapse of a slope using optical flow information; and a second determination unit configured to scan a region having a large optical flow vector partially and precisely in a region of interest when it is determined that there is the possibility of collapse of a slope, to compare the generated slope information with initial slope model information to determine the possibility of collapse of the slope. Therefore, the possibility of collapse of a slope may be determined more accurately and efficiently.
