The present invention relates to a wideband receiver with an improved spurious signal characteristic. According to the present invention, the wideband receiver, which down-converts a received wideband signal and provides the signal to a digital processor, comprises: a plurality of band pass filters (11a) which have different pass bands; a first filter bank (11) which selectively switches the band pass filters (11a) and filters an image frequency signal and an interference signal from the wideband signal; a frequency multiplier (12) which multiplies a frequency signal outputted from a frequency synthesizer (23) and generates a first local oscillation signal; a first mixer (14) which mixes a signal outputted from the first filter tank (11) and the first local oscillation signal and down-converts the first frequency; a second mixer (16) which mixes the second local oscillation signal generated in the frequency synthesizer (23) and a signal outputted from the first mixer (14) and down-converts a second frequency; and a control unit (18) which selects the wideband pass filters (11a) appropriate for the wideband signal among the band pass filters (11a) of the first filter tank (11) according to the frequency of the wideband signal, and controls the switching operation of the first filter tank (11).
