An automatic teller machine capable of responding to customer claims and a response method using the same. An automatic teller machine includes a medium discriminating part which reads the image of a bill withdrawn or/and deposited and discriminates it, a bill information collecting part which collects the image of the bill read by the medium discriminating part. If there is the transaction identification request of a client due to the mismatch of the sum, bill images collected through the bill information collecting part are displayed with a sheet of bill so that bill information on the deposit and/or withdrawal of the client can be directly checked. Thereby, it can remove inconvenience that the client has to visit a teller in a bank to check bill information on deposit and/or withdrawal.
