A method comprising the steps of: obtaining first medical information in electronic format about a patient for whom a visualization procedure is planned by means of a visualization system, wherein medical information in electronic format contains medical concepts that correspond to the visualization procedure; receiving second medical information in electronic format with medical concepts for at least one imaging procedure for previously scanned patients; patient cases are identified those that correspond to the second medical information in electronic format, which contain at least one of the medical concepts of the first medical information in electronic format; identify medical concepts in the identified cases of diseases of patients that are not present in medical concepts in the first medical information in electronic format, as missing medical concepts; and select a visualization protocol for the visualization procedure based on a combination of medical concepts from the first medical information in electronic format and missing medical concepts and generate a signal indicating the selected visualization protocol. 2. The method according to claim 1, further comprising the step of: obtaining second medical information in electronic format from an information database of previously scanned patients, the information containing medical concepts used to select imaging protocols for previously scanned patients. The method of claim 1, further comprising the steps of: determining
