The invention relates to a device (2) for camera based detecting the environment for a vehicle (1) and for the distance determination of an approaching object (o1 to o4), wherein at least two at the vehicle (1) disposed cameras (2.1, 2.2) for determining a position of the object (o1 to o4) to two defined recording times and an evaluation unit (2.3) - to the distance and speed of the object (o1 to o4) on the basis of the position and a period of time between the recording times are provided. According to the invention, the cameras (2.1, 2.2) have a detection range of 360°, whereby one of the cameras (2.2) into a roof antenna (1.1) of the vehicle (1) is integrated.The present invention also relates to a vehicle (1), comprising such an apparatus (2).
