A fastening system for objects (2) in a means of transport, has a profiled rail (6), at least one locking device (19) with a base body (20) which can be brought into surface contact with a support surface (8) of the profiled rail (6) and at least one arresting body (38 , 58), which can be braced with the profiled rail (6), and an actuating device (21) with an actuating element (30) extending parallel to the profiled rail (6) and a clamping body (22) connected to the actuating element (30). The clamping body (22) is configured such that it exerts a compressive force on a component of the locking device (19) in a first direction parallel to the profiled rail (6) during a movement of the actuating element (30) in order to clamp the locking body (38 , 58) and upon movement of the actuating element (30) in a second direction opposite thereto releases the tension.
