The method comprises: flattening a conduit (3) at a sealing point so as to obtain, at the sealing point, a first wall having a first thickness material (6e) bounded by a first inner surface and a first planar outer surface oriented towards an interior and an exterior of the conduit and a second wall having a second thickness material (7e) bounded by a second flat inner surface parallel to the first inner surface and a second outer surface oriented outside the conduit; and relatively rotating a tool (5) about an axis of rotation (A) perpendicular to the first and second inner surfaces. The method comprises: flattening a conduit (3) at a sealing point so as to obtain, at the sealing point, a first wall having a first thickness material (6e) bounded by a first inner surface and a first planar outer surface oriented towards an interior and an exterior of the conduit and a second wall having a second thickness material (7e) bounded by a second flat inner surface parallel to the first inner surface and a second outer surface oriented outside the conduit; and relatively rotating a tool (5) about an axis of rotation (A) perpendicular to the first and second inner surfaces in a feed direction parallel to the axis of rotation at the sealing point from the first outer surface through the first thickness material and a portion of the second thickness material so as to achieve the closure of the conduit by shearing and kneading a portion of the first and second materials displaceable by the rotating tool. The flattening of the conduit at the sealing point is designed so that the first and second inner surfaces are pressed against the other to isolate a container. The rotating tool is guided along the axis of rotation in an upper part of a through opening formed in a guide. Dimensions of the opening are such that a volume defined between the opening and the tool remains available to accommodate the material of the conduit moved by the rotating tool during penetration of the rotating tool. The flattening of the conduit is obtained directly or indirectly by positioning the second external surface of the conduit on a supporting surface and using a punch at the sealing point on the first outer surface. A shoe is arranged between a bearing surface and the second outer surface of the conduit so as to avoid the shoe from sticking to the second external surface on the support surface. A step of immersing the rotating tool is followed by a step of raising the tool. The shoe is set in rotation about an axis parallel to the axis of rotation and/or translation in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation. The guide is formed in the punch. The opening in the guide is closed by a removable part during the flattening so as to flatten the conduit the guide. The tool does not cross the entire second wall of the second thickness material leaving a seal material on a side of the second outer surface. An independent claim is included for a device for sealing a conduit.
