Aspects of the present disclosure relate to managing a user account based on information received from a social networking service. In accordance with aspects of the present disclosure, a user can associate an account on a social networking service with a separate account on a marketplace system. The marketplace system can define social network tags or identifiers that can be used within the social networking service to implement functions or take actions within the user's account associated with the marketplace system.
