A method implemented by a computer for monitoring the status of a target vegetation attribute within a target geographical boundary by generating an allometric model for the target vegetation attribute within the target geographical boundary]and generating a geospatial database including remote sensing imagery for monitoring the target vegetation attribute within the target geographical boundary. The sample of the pixels from a remote sensing image are the result of processing by the geospatial data processing software which removes low quality and/or contaminated pixels from the remote sensing image; and creates periodic composites (i.e., monthly, quarterly, annually) for descriptive statistics from pixels within remote sensing images taken for the same location at different dates to generate a consistent time series and annual data for different years of interest.
