PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus, a photon-counting detection apparatus, and a double-layer photon-counting detector capable of efficiently detecting X rays.;SOLUTION: An X-ray CT apparatus according to an embodiment comprises an X-ray source for emitting X rays, and a plurality of photon-counting detectors (PCDs) for detecting X rays emitted from the X-ray source. Each of the plurality of photon-counting detectors comprises: a first photon-counting detector having a first detection material for detecting X rays emitted from the X-ray source, using a first set of energy bins; and a second photon-counting detector disposed more apart from the X-ray source than the first photon-counting detector, and having a second detection material for detecting, using a second set of energy bins, X rays emitted from the X-ray source and transmitted through the first detection material.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2;COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT
