PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique in which L-type lactic acid that is a raw material for a biodegradable plastic is produced from insoluble raw starch and heated starch at high efficiency in a condition of high temperature and low nitrogen source.;SOLUTION: A technique produces L-type lactic acid having high optical purity at high efficiency by use of thermophilic microorganism even when it is at wide fermentation temperature: 30-70°C and at extremely low concentration of organic nitrogen source: 0.001% or less, and raw starch and heated starch is used as ground substance without a conventional amylase enzyme agent. Therefore, by a production process in which it is hardly influenced by temperature variation caused by fermentation of the L-type lactic acid so that energy cost is low and impurity is hardly produced, the L-type lactic acid that is a precursor of a polylactic acid to be a raw material for a biodegradable plastic can be produced from raw starch, heated starch, and waste substance including the same at high efficiency.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3;COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT
