PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a travel section line recognition device capable of improving stability of recognition of a travel section line while suppressing erroneous recognition of the travel section line.SOLUTION: A travel section line recognition device comprises: detection means that detects a white line candidate as a candidate of a white line for partitioning a lane of a road on the basis of a road image captured by an on-vehicle camera 11 mounted on a vehicle 10; clearance detection means that detects a clearance included in the white line candidate detected by the detection means; and recognition decrease means that, when the clearance is detected by the clearance detection means, decreases a probability of recognizing the white line candidate as the white line up to a first probability lower than the probability in a case where no clearance is detected by the detection means, in an area from a vehicle-side edge of the clearance nearest to the vehicle 10 to a farther-side edge thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
