PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control device capable of controlling vibration on a construction having a structure on which a base isolation bearing is difficult to be installed.SOLUTION: A vibration control device 10 for a construction such as a bridge comprises: first sliding plates 15 fixed to upper faces of bridge abutments 3 and a bridge pier 4; second sliding plates 16 which slidably contact the first sliding plates 15 and are fixed to lower faces of a bridge girder 2; sliding bearings 11 which support the bridge girder 2 in a manner that allows the bridge girder 2 to have relative displacement in a horizontal direction with respect to the bridge abutments 3 and the bridge pier 4; and cables 12 which connect the bridge girder 2 with the bridge abutments 3 and the bridge pier 4 and provide the bridge girder 2 with restoring force to move the same to a position thereof before an earthquake occurs in accordance with the relative displacement of the bridge girder 2 with respect to the bridge abutments 3 and the bridge pier 4 due to the earthquake.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
