PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake force evaluation method for a railway vehicle which can easily measure brake force with a unified system.SOLUTION: A brake force measurement method for a vehicle 10 which comprises: a carriage 11 provided with wheels; a vehicle body 12 which is installed on the carriage via an air spring; a link L which connects the vehicle body 12 to the carriage 11; and a strain gage G which measures the strain of the link L includes: a process of previously obtaining the correlation between the strain measured by the strain gage G and brake information such as a brake signal for generating brake force and calculating a load (brake force) for generating the brake force from the strain measured by the strain gage G on the basis of the obtained correlation; and a process of evaluating whether or not the brake force is appropriate from the load calculated in the preceding process.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
