PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recombinant cell enabling enhanced production of a lauric acid-rich fat and oil.SOLUTION: A gene encoding acyl-ACP thioesterase and gene encoding diacylglycerol acyltransferases 2 to 4 are introduced into a recombinant Chlamydomonas cell.
