PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve synthesis of a material having a ThMnstructure without using a third element lowering magnetization, thereby to provide a high performance magnet material having a high saturation magnetization, anisotropy magnetic field and Curie temperature.SOLUTION: A rare earth anisotropic magnet material is represented by general formula: RTN(where, R represents at least one rare earth element selected from the group consisting of Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Yb and Lu, T represents at least one element selected from the group consisting of Fe, Co and Ni, and y satisfies 0.5≤y≤1.5), and has a ThMncrystal structure.
