PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improved soles for cycling that are light-weight and that allow sufficient ventilation and a customization to the anatomy of the feet of a wearer, while at the same time providing a sufficient bending stiffness and support to the feet of the wearer to ensure the desired direct transmission of forces from the feet to the pedals of a bicycle.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a sole 100 for a shoe, in particular for a cycling shoe, the sole comprising: a three-dimensionally shaped rim 110; and a plurality of first reinforcing struts 121-127, wherein at least two 122-125 of the plurality of first reinforcing struts extend from a heel region 112 of the rim 110 of the sole 100 to a toe region 115 of the rim 110 of the sole 100, and wherein the rim 110 of the sole 100 and the plurality of first reinforcing struts 121-127 are integrally manufactured as a single piece in an additive manufacturing process.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1a
