Group IV metal aryloxy-phthalocyanines for use in solar cells

This application relates to compounds comprising aryloxy-phthalocyanine compounds of group IV metals, methods for preparing the compounds, and products made therefrom. The variables M in the formulas (II) and (I) include Si, Ge, and Sn, and other variables are as defined in the claims. A photovoltaic cell comprising such a compound is also claimed.
