An epoxidized fatty acid alkyl ester produced at least in part from natural oil soda oil cake and a method for making such an epoxidized fatty acid alkyl ester. Epoxidized fatty acid alkyl esters can be used in plasticizer compositions in combination with at least one epoxidized natural oil. Such plasticizers can be used to prepare polymer compositions that include a polymer resin such as polyvinyl chloride and a plasticizer. Such polymer compositions can in turn be used to make a variety of articles such as coatings or jackets for wires and cables. [Selection figure] None
