Inhibitors of the enzyme DXS in the MEP pathway

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel compound inhibiting an enzyme 1-deoxy D-xylulose 5-phosphate synthase (DXS) in a 2-C-methyl-D-erythritol 4-phosphate (MEP) pathway which mainly prokaryons have, and to provide a DXS inhibitor containing the compound.;SOLUTION: There are provided: a compound represented by formula (1) wherein R is -OH or a 1-6C alkyl group, m is an integer of 0 to 3, and n is an integer of 3 to 20; and a DXS inhibitor containing the compound.
