PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speaker array drive device and a method for driving a speaker array, capable of improving a composite wave face of an acoustic wave from a virtual sound image in which an actual speaker is not arranged and frequency characteristics of a sound in a speaker array which can be arranged around a video display.;SOLUTION: A speaker array drive device 1 comprises: a speaker array 90; a drive signal calculation unit 10 which calculates a drive signal of the speaker array; a weight coefficient multiplication unit 70 which generates a weighted drive signal by multiplying the drive signal by a weight coefficient; a frequency characteristics calculation unit 40 which calculates frequency characteristics of the weighted drive signal; a frequency characteristics non-flatness calculation unit 50 which calculates non-flatness of the frequency characteristics; a composite wave face turbulence degree calculation unit 30 which calculates a turbulence degree of a composite wave face of an acoustic wave in a sound receiving area including a sound receiving point when the weighted drive signal is reproduced by the speaker array; and a weight coefficient calculation unit 60 which calculates a weight coefficient so as to minimize the non-flatness of the frequency characteristics and the turbulence degree of the composite wave face.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
