PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for growing algae and a method for growing algae that can grow algae efficiently.;SOLUTION: A system for growing algae includes: a plurality of tanks 10 in which algae are grown inside thereof, respectively; a plurality of transfer pipes 22 which are provided among the plurality of tanks 10 and connect the tank 10 of an upstream side and the tank 10 of a downstream side so that grown algae M flows down from the tank 10 of the upstream side to the tank 10 of the downstream side with fluid W containing at least one of nutrient solution and water; a fluid supply pipe 56 which supplies the fluid W to at least a tank 10A of the most upstream; a plurality of aeration devices which are adjusted so that when air for aeration is supplied to one tank 10 of the pair of tanks 10, an amount of air, which does not cause aeration S, is supplied to the other tank 10; a recovery tank 62 which recovers the fluid W and the algae M flowing out from the most downstream tank 10; and a screen which separates the fluid W and the algae M which are recovered in the recovery tank 62.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT
