PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a medium conveying mechanism capable of reliably conveying only one medium even when attraction force generated among laminated media is large.;SOLUTION: A medium conveying mechanism 8 which holds and conveys an uppermost medium being the medium placed uppermost out of laminated media by a conveying arm 18 includes: a holding member 38 which is brought into contact with a side surface of a center hole of the uppermost medium and holds the uppermost medium; and a separating member 39 for separating a directly under medium which is the medium placed directly below the uppermost medium attached to the uppermost medium held by the holding member 38 from the uppermost medium. Under specific conditions, the medium conveying mechanism 8 performs at least one switching operation of switching a lifting speed of the conveying arm 18 from a first speed to a second speed lower than the first speed and of switching a moving speed of the separating member 39 from a third speed to a fourth speed lower than the third speed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
