PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cerebral function-improving agent that is excellent from standpoints of cost and stable supply and effectively ameliorates brain diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and deterioration in cerebral functions.SOLUTION: The cerebral function-improving agent comprises a hot-water extract from powder of Paecilomyces tenuipes which is a fungus, a kind of Cordyceps belonging to the genus Cordyceps of the family Clavicipitaceae of the phylum Ascomycota and is parasitic on a larva of a silkworm, preferably a powdered product of a fruit body and a host (for example, a silkworm), and exhibits excellent cerebral function-improving effects with a relatively small dose.
