The present invention is a method and apparatus for producing a methylenediphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) isomer mixture having a low content of 2,2 '- MDI isomers and a high content of 2,4' - MDI isomers. The resulting mixture is highly reactive and can be allowed to apply in food grade because the primary aromatic amine formed during the curing process is reduced. The method and apparatus can also include controlling the amount of 4,4 - MDI, the most reactive isomer in the mixture, and can be used in a wide variety of applications.
