PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified FAD(flavine-adenine-dinucleotide)-dependent glucose dehydrogenase having sufficient reactivity over a wide range of temperatures, and excellent in substrate specificity, through overcoming the drawbacks inherent in well-known FAD-dependent glucose dehydrogenase. PSOLUTION: The modified FAD-dependent glucose dehydrogenase is provided, which is improved in temperature dependency compared with an FAD-dependent glucose dehydrogenase before being modified and also is lowered in xylose-acting tendency, through modifying the previous FAD-dependent glucose dehydrogenase at gene levels.
