PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified flavin adenine dinucleotide-dependent glucose dehydrogenase having improved specific activity by overcoming defects of known flavin adenine dinucleotide-dependent glucose dehydrogenase.SOLUTION: There are provided a protein, in which the 410th amino acid is substituted with another amino acid in an amino acid sequence of wild-type FADGDH derived from Aspergillus oryzae or modified FADGDH having improved thermostability; alternatively a protein, in which an amino acid at a position equivalent to the 410th position of the amino acid sequence of the wild-type or modified FADGDH is substituted with another amino acid in an amino acid sequence having 60% homology to the amino acid sequence of the wild-type or modified FADGDH and encoding a protein having glucose dehydrogenase activity.
