PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microorganism having improved xylose fermenting ability.SOLUTION: There are provided a microorganism in which expression function of a glycine synthesizing protein gene and/or a methionine synthesizing protein gene is lost, and a xylose metabolism enzyme gene is introduced, a production method of the microorganism, and an ethanol production method using the microorganism.
