Is a Medical Equipment designed to reduce the temperature of the head and neck of Selectively Inducing Therapeutic hypothermia, i.e., localized, to be applied to persons who have suffered a severe Head Trauma.The device works by circulating water at low temperature by Cooling a cap which is in contact with the head and neck of the patient, thus creating a temperature gradient between the head and the rest of the body.The team's objective is to reduce the temperature of the Brain in about four degrees, since at this level does not generate risks for the patient and has been shown to decrease intracranial pressure that occurs in the severe Head Trauma and in turn reduces the Neurological sequelae of this group of patients.The team consists of Five interconnected Parts; a Cooling Cap of PVC in contact with the head and Neck through which water flows, a cooling system that keeps the water at the desired temperature, a Liquid circulation pump, temperature sensors.
