The storage tank of polymer solution or polymer melt according to the present invention comprises an open container (1), wherein at least the portion of said open container (1), which is in contact with the polymer solution or polymer melt is made of glass. The open container (1) is provided with at least one glass rib or a glass bulkhead. The invention also discloses an apparatus for producing nanofibers, said apparatus comprising a storage tank, at least one spinning electrode (6) and at least one collecting electrode (7) arranged opposite to said spinning electrode (6). At least a portion of the spinning electrode (6) surface reaches inside the tank.
